Garden Hut have been providing discreet secure self storage facilities since 2001 at a rural site between Chippenham and Corsham. We have 100 indoor partitioned units in two sizes available in five buildings on a single site. Our focus is on satisfying demand for long term storage and we often, as a consequence, have no vacancies. On average between two and five units fall vacant each year and, whilst we maintain a waiting list, existing clients generally get preference. Our rates are very competitive in part because our business is not VAT registered. We recognise that many of our clients are private individuals who can not recover VAT. Subject to the legislation concerning the turnover threshold for VAT registration remaining unchanged it is our intention that we keep our turnover below the registration threshold ensuring our clients continue to benefit from low charges free of VAT.
Access to storage units is limited to 0700 – 2100 (summer) and 0700 – 2000 (winter). Access outside of these times can be arranged by prior notification.
Recent security upgrades at the site mean we can now offer contents insurance.
Management and ownership of the site has changed recently although the new directors live within a quarter of a mile of the site and operate a classic and prestige car storage business, Classic Car Safe, on the same site and from buildings immediately adjacent to Garden Hut’s site.
